Swine flu during pregnancy study - Information for health professionals

Thank you for your interest in our study. Recruitment to this study is now closed and we are unfortunately NOT ABLE TO ENROL NEW PARTICIPANTS. Please note that outcome data is still being collected on women who have consented, in writing, to full participation in the study. A questionnaire will be sent to you by the study team around the baby’s due date and then 6 months post-delivery. Please contact us on  0191 2606197 if you have not received anything.

We will continue to post details of new UKTIS studies on this website so please check regularly.

If you are aware of women who gave verbal permission for their details to be passed to the study team but have not yet completed and returned the
Participant - consent form and Reporting Form for Participants it is not too late for them to do so. As you will be aware, we are only able to follow-up pregnancy and infant outcomes of those women who have consented in writing.

WOMEN WHO WOULD STILL LIKE TO PARTICPATE FULLY ARE ENCOURAGED TO complete and return both these forms to us at our FREEPOST address below (no stamp required).

Your participation and support of  this study is highly valued. Early results of the information collected up until March 2010 have been used to help plan how best to care for pregnant women during the 2009 AH1N1 influenza pandemic. Interim results up to this period have also now been published. The full article (pg. 109) is freely available at:

http://www.hta.ac.uk/fullmono/mon1434.pdf

The final study findings will be available towards the middle of 2011. As you will be aware, we are only able to collect outcome details for women who have signed and returned the written Participant - consent form

Best wishes
The UKTIS Study Team
